Typography is the vehicle for readable language. It gives form and functionality to words, and the letterforms themselves are an art form. Within the realm of design, typography has a major role to play in how information is communicated in our society. The average person might not spend much time considering the impact that typefaces have upon their daily lives, but truly, type is embedded everywhere in our society, and its impact can be overt and/or subconscious. Effective typography can deliver a message so that it can be understood, whereas bad typography can stop the message from ever being received.
EXAMPLES OF MY TYPESETTING & FONT USAGE
EXAMPLES OF MY HAND DRAWN TYPOGRAPHY
These are examples of my hand-drawn typography. These are not specific typefaces or fonts, but of course all of the typography that I draw is inspired by type somewhere in the history/catalogue of design, printing, and literature. Creating letterforms is a process of discovery.
