Logo design utilizes typography and/or illustration to give identity to a brand. I design all of my logos in Adobe Illustrator so that they are created in vector graphics. I believe that the best test of a logo is whether or not it can be embroidered (if it is too complex for embroidery at 2" x 2" size, then it is probably not a good logo design). I often generate a few pages of sketched thumbnails to generate ideas for a logo design. I find this allows me to explore ideas before settling on one image. After all, it is the branding for a company, and the idea of the logo needs to represent what that company is about. Cleaning-up and client's hand-drawn logos or vectorizing a low-resolution raster logo is a service I also offer in addition to creating a logo from scratch.
