Chris Robinson Brotherhood brought their psychedelic music to Cervantes this weekend, and it did not disappoint. Of course, I really dig Chris' songwriting and feel like it is the obvious foundation of the band. However, the other members are just as integral. Neal Casal's solos are melodic perfection. Adam MacDougal is like the captain at the controls of the spaceship. Muddy was holding things steady on bass. And this was my first chance to hear the new drummer, Tony Leone. They really have a good team of players that listen to what each other is doing, and you can hear the results.
The highlights for me were: Jump the Turnstile, Star or Stone, Reflections of a Broken Mirror, and I Ain't Hiding.
If you get a chance to see CRB on this tour, don't pass it up.
