Canyon Collected brought their original uke-folkgrass music to Larimer Lounge on Thursday night (02/09/2017). They opened the show for Steve'n'Seagulls, the Finnish band known for their bluegrass covers of heavy metal songs. Canyon Collected's hour-long set consisted of their original songs, and one song written by their good friend, Kyle Smith. Sitting-in on the guitar again was Tom Mueller who amazed the audience with his lightning-fast picking. Tia Martini took the show to another galaxy with her ukulele. Jake kept those high notes rolling-in on the mandolin and sang a few songs himself. Leon sang confidently and got deep into some jams with the banjo. The theme of whiskey permeated the music, as three songs on the setlist were about bourbon, in one way or another. The crowd responded enthusiastically to Canyon Collected's energized stringband music, and plenty of people in the audience surely walked away with their melodies repeating in their mind. It was a beautiful evening of music.
