Hanging Lake, Glenwood Springs, Colorado
08/10/2017
I went on a hike with a friend up to a popular trail in Colorado - Hanging Lake. This is located in the Glenwood Canyon. From the trailhead, it is about a mile to get to Hanging Lake - so it's not a long hike, but there is some major elevation gain. Hanging Lake is well-worth the effort to hike this trail. The lake is an aquamarine color due to limestone rocks. There are several old dead trees that extend into the water. Just above Hanging Lake is another pool with two waterfalls. Spouting Rock has a waterfall from the very top, and also has a waterfall that shoots out of a hole in the rock wall. The hike down was very enjoyable and we saw things that were not see on the way up. I can see why this spot is a popular destination in Colorado.
